Hair Prep Guidelines
We say our curly hair experience is a 50\50 relationship with our clients. We need our clients to follow our hair prep guidelines and read our policies. Upon scheduling your appointment online you, acknowledge and agree to this policy. This provides a mutual agreement and understanding. Thank you and we looking forward to meeting you!
New and returning curly cut clients
Please arrive with a fresh wash and go. Here’s how:
● For all New and Returning Clients
● Cleanse and detangle your hair no more than 48 hours before your appointment. If you need help detangling your hair, please let us know as we’ll have to add time to your appointment.
● Let your hair dry naturally. You can air dry or use your diffuser.
● Until your appointment, wear your hair down and natural. Please don’t pull back, pin, tie or push hair down tight, as this stretches the curls. The same goes for braids, ponytails, hats and scarves. In order to give you the best service, we need to see your curls in all their glory.
● You can use your regular products to set your curls, but please avoid using any oily or heavy products.
Properly prepped hair allows us to see exactly what your curls need and perform the consultation and service in a timely manner.
A $50-$100 deposit is required for all appointments over an hour to confirm your booking.

Late arrivals
We schedule our appointments carefully based on the time needed for each client. Clients who are more than 15 minutes late may need to reschedule their appointment. If we are able to accommodate you, you’ll be charged from the time your appointment was supposed to begin.
Similarly, if we are running late we’ll do our best to let you know beforehand or upon your arrival. If our tardiness disrupts your schedule, we’ll be happy to reschedule free of charge.
We truly appreciate each and every one of you and our time together and we will always try our hardest to accommodate you. If you have any questions please feel free to email us at info@aurabeautemontreal.com
Adjustment Policy
We strive to make all of our clients hair dreams come true, but that doesn’t always happen on the first try. If something in your haircut isn’t quite right, please contact us as soon as possible. We’re happy to adjust services performed in the salon within a 2 week period.
Please note that if a stylist from a different salon has tried to adjust the cut, any work performed at Aura Beauté is void, and no refund or adjustment will be available.
We truly strive to make your hair how you envision it, and would love the opportunity to do so.
If you decide you want a style that is different from what was discussed during your consultation, let us know. We can work on a game plan to get you where you want to be!
Pricing
At Aura Beauté, we believe that hair has no gender. That’s why we’ve decided to charge based on length of hair and the time needed for the appointment as opposed to using the antiquated system of man’s cut or women’s cut.
All of our prices are based on the average time needed to perform your service and all products necessary to bring your hair dream to life.
If you are sick
Aura Beauté and its staff are required to comply with the health regulations including sanitation of all stations and hair tools.
If you or your child are experiencing symptoms of cold or flu, we kindly ask you to reschedule your appointment.
Please sanitize or wash your hands upon entering our premises.
If you have any questions or comments, send us an email at info@aurabeautemontreal.com
Other important things to keep in mind:
It can take up to 6 months of caring for your hair with your new curly haircut and maintenance methods before your curls reach their full potential and be free of sulfates and silicones. Be patient. We may need to reverse the many years of damage to your curl pattern from straightening, blow drying, combing and brushing out your hair.
We take before and after photos of clients to track progress and to use as reference for us both. I may or may not use these pictures in social media outlets. Remember that these photos are useful for other Curly Girls to see and helps them to feel confidant that they too, will receive a positive result. Please keep in mind I cannot post every before and after as I take many per day. Please let me know if you prefer I do NOT use your before and after photo on social media.
• If you’ve had a Deva Cut in the past and did not like it, remember just like 5 artists painting the same thing; everyone interprets it in their own way. The outcome can be dramatically different with each stylist that you visit.
What You Need to Know Most of All:
• 1/3 of this process is a good dry curly haircut.
• 1/3 of it is switching to sulfate/silicone free products and using the right proportions for your hair type.
• 1/3 of it is learning how to work with your curls, which I will teach you! Experimenting with my curly methods at home is a must. Feel free to use these new tools you will learn and adapt them to what works best for you.
